Truck Dispatching Classes Online — No Start Dates, No Classroom

An online truck dispatching class only earns its price if you leave it able to work. EK Dispatch Academy runs 35 class-length modules you take in order, each ending in a task from the real desk: qualify the load, price it, make the call, send the rate confirmation. Classes are on demand, so there is no cohort to wait for and no session to miss. Practice happens on live US and Canadian load boards, and you can message a working dispatcher in 1-on-1 coach chat anytime. C$199 covers 30 days of everything (billed in CAD; the US-dollar amount depends on your bank's exchange rate and fees).

How the online classes are sequenced

The classes run in three phases so nothing arrives out of order. Phase one is foundations: how carriers, brokers and shippers make money, authority and compliance, and the documents that govern a load. Phase two is the daily desk: load boards, rate math, negotiation, rate confirmations, tracking and check calls.

Phase three is problem freight — detention, layover, TONU, refused deliveries, late shippers, cross-border documentation and cash flow through factoring. Most online classes stop before phase three, which is exactly where new dispatchers lose money in their first month.

  • Phase 1 — industry, authority, compliance, paperwork
  • Phase 2 — load boards, pricing, negotiation, daily flow
  • Phase 3 — problem loads, accessorials, cross-border, billing
  • Simulator call practice woven through all three phases
  • Final class block — resume, LinkedIn, carrier outreach

What a class actually looks like

You read or listen to a short lesson — audio is available for every class, so a commute counts as study time — then run the task. In a pricing class that means taking three live loads and defending your number. In a negotiation class it means calling the simulated broker until you stop dropping your rate at the first push-back.

Every task is scored against how a dispatcher would judge it, not a multiple-choice key, and you can retake anything.

Who takes these classes

Career changers with no freight background, drivers moving off the road, owner-operators who want to stop paying a dispatcher 10%, and existing office staff at carriers being moved onto the dispatch desk.

Boards, agencies and colleges also sponsor seats, since the class format is short, fully remote and produces reportable completion evidence.

Frequently asked questions

When does the online truck dispatching class start?

Immediately. Classes are on demand rather than scheduled, so you enrol and start the first class the same day — no cohorts, no intake dates, no application.

Are the classes live or self-paced?

The classes themselves are self-paced so you can replay any of them. The live element is human support: you can message working dispatchers in 1-on-1 coach chat anytime.

How many classes are in the program?

35 class-length modules grouped into foundations, daily operations and problem freight, plus the simulator, final exam and the job-ready block covering resume and carrier outreach.

Can I take the classes on my phone?

Yes. The platform is mobile-first and progress syncs between devices, and every class has an audio version for commuting or working out.

What does the online class cost?

C$199 for 30 days of full access (billed in CAD; the US-dollar amount depends on your bank's exchange rate and fees). That includes every class, the load boards, the simulator, 1-on-1 coaching and the verified certificate.

Do I get a certificate for completing the classes?

Yes. After you pass the three-part Final Assessment you get a certificate with a public verification URL a carrier can check independently.
