The training course, module by module
The course opens with the money: who pays whom in a freight transaction, what a carrier's costs actually are, and why a load that looks profitable on a board often is not. From there it moves into authority and compliance so you can set up or vet a carrier without guessing.
The middle of the course is the daily desk — boards, pricing, negotiation, confirmations, tracking, POD chasing and invoicing. The last third is what separates a trained dispatcher from a confident beginner: detention and TONU claims, refused and reconsigned loads, cross-border customs paperwork, and factoring cash flow.

How the course is assessed
Each module ends in a practical task graded the way a dispatch manager would grade it. The Final Assessment then scores three things separately — a 50-question Knowledge Final, a practical dispatch assessment and three graded communication calls — so passing means you can actually run the desk, not just recall the last chapter.
Graduates receive a certificate with a public verification URL. Boards, agencies and employers can confirm it without contacting us.

EK Dispatch Academy is a WorkSafeBC-approved training provider (and WCB Nova Scotia sponsored), and the course is fundable case-by-case through other Canadian boards' vocational plans as well as workforce agencies, colleges and grant programs. We invoice the sponsoring organisation directly and supply progress, exam and completion reporting.

How long is the truck dispatcher training course?

Do you help with getting hired after the course?
