What is "ACE Manifest" in trucking?
An ACE Manifest (Automated Commercial Environment manifest, also called eManifest or ACE eManifest) is the electronic shipment declaration that every commercial truck must transmit to US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) at least 1 hour before it arrives at a US port of entry. It is the southbound equivalent of Canada's ACI manifest and is mandatory for every Canada→USA truck crossing, regardless of commodity, value, or carrier size. Dispatchers do not usually file the ACE themselves — the carrier or its customs broker does — but the dispatcher owns the timing, the PARS number, the bill of lading details, and the driver's ETA, so a missed ACE is almost always a dispatch-desk failure.
